Pathways to Housing: Partners Wanted

The Alex Pathways to Housing program is seeking community partners who can offer furniture, mattresses and general household items at a reduced cost.

The Pathways program, which houses chronically homeless individuals and wraps them in 24/7 care (more), has a stringent budget for each client. From the minimal amount of funds available, apartments must be furnished and household goods purchased. Funds must also be allocated for grocery and medical expenses, as well as clothing and personal items, further reducing the funds available for furnishings.

What we need:
Each client deserves the same rights as all Calgarians, and therefore each apartment will have a bed, chair, side tables, lamps, telephone, small television, cleaning supplies, kitchen utensils, tableware, bathroom furnishings such as towels and hygiene supplies, and more.

How You Can Help:

  • Offer your goods free or at cost to the Pathways to Housing project
  • Donate funds to Pathways to Housing
  • Donate grocery store gift cards to Pathways to Housing
  • Donate gift cards from retail stores (ie:Wal-Mart, Zeller's) to Pathways to Housing

How your support helps:
Your support enable the Pathways to Housing team to quickly transition chronically homeless individuals into housing. This new environment enables the individual to receive proper medical care, thereby improving their life as well as reducing their reliance on costly emergency medical care.
